Meet the team
Ray Collins BCA – Chairman
I was born in Wantage Hospital and I have lived and worked in Wantage all my life. I am passionate about helping the wonderful people in my community and make a difference to peoples lives while encouraging others to do the same. Having spent 10 years raising tens of thousands of pounds for local people, local causes and Cancer Research UK. I set up my own registered charity in January 2016 The Ray Collins Charitable Trust 1173358.
I wanted the charity to be as broad as possible in terms of who we help and we achieved this after months of negotiating with the charity commission. The charity has raised over £100,000 in the last 3 years all for local people. Their biggest success so far has been the purchase of a specialised minibus worth £45,000 for local special needs school Fitzwaryn. Sadly there is a growing number of people who need our help but this is matched by our commitment to do so.
With your help we will continue “Making a real difference in our community”.
Phil Tynan – Vice Chairman
I am married to Sarah Tynan, we have one son Adam and I am a stepfather to Tom. Having known Ray and been friends all my adult life it has been an absolute pleasure helping him with all his fundraising over the years. I moved to Grove with my parents age 9 in 1980. I am very proud to be part of the community in Grove and Wantage. Over the years I have ran a few charity events of my own so it was an easy decision to help Ray in the early days. To see how it has developed into a registered charity is nothing short of amazing. When we decided to set up as a registered I was very humbled when asked to be Vice Chairman.
Thank you for visiting our page and welcome any fundraising ideas to help the fantastic community we live in.
Melanie Breakspear – Secretary
I have lived and worked in Grove my whole life and I joined TRCCT as Secretary in July 2017. For several years prior I helped Ray by marshaling his events and with his many makeovers. I love what we do together as a trust for our local community and look forward to many more years of raising funds to help more people.
Kate McCormack – Treasurer
I was really happy to be asked to join the Trust as treasurer by Ray. I have worked in finance for many years and enjoy balancing the books. I love what we achieve together as a Trust and helping some amazing people in our community makes it all worthwhile.
Robert Huffnagle – Trustee
I was born in America and moved to Wantage when I was 4 years old. I’ve lived and worked in Wantage ever since. I’ve known Ray most of my life and when he started raising money for charity he asked for my help which I have been happy to give which has included the Carnival, Easter and Xmas dinners and many other things in between. I am proud to be a member of Rays team.
Robin Bolton – Trustee
I have lived in Wantage all of my life. I work locally and have got to know lots of local people over the years.
