Biggest Christmas Hamper Distribution – To Date!

During a grey December Sunday morning, we made up a whopping 152 Christmas Hampers, a massive thank you to all our amazing volunteers who made up the hampers in three and a half hours. These hampers make a huge difference to all who receive them especially when more than ever, we are feeling the pinch!

A couple of dashes out to the shops for missing items but the volunteers worked tirelessly and put these together in record time. Over 5000 items of food, 500 knitted angels, recipe cards for using up leftovers, Christmas cards plus additional food saving tips were all squeezed into our fantastic boxes.

A big thank you to Sainsbury’s Wantage for their donation of £570 worth of food which enabled us to make several more hampers up as well.

Just as we finished The Wantage and Grove Food Bank were starting to assemble there 150 hampers. This year’s collaboration with the Food Bank, Wantage Independent Advice Centre and The Mix has been a huge success producing over 300 hampers for 190 families over 400 children and 110 elderly people living in isolation.

Thank you once again to everyone who has donated, every pound has made sure we can carry on making a real difference in community and to far more people, and to all of those who have given up their time. We will continue supporting the local people of Wantage and surrounding area within five miles for many years to come as the Trust grows stronger every day, our only aim is to carry on making a real difference in our community.
